Nightmares in a 9yo with ASD

My 9yo DS was diagnosed with ASD earlier this year.

We’ve had a few issues with sleep over the past few years; a phase of finding it difficult to get to sleep, and currently loads of night wakings.

They can range from being scared, too hot, too cold, needing a drink, to nightmares, and the nightmares are what is mainly going on at the moment.

He’s waking up at least twice a night, and although he does get back to sleep quickly, I’m exhausted.

I’m a single mum and also have a 7yo NT child, who I feel really bad for as I’m constantly knackered and when he wakes up in the morning (he’s usually up before his brother) I’m too exhausted to be able to fully give him my attention.

How do I cope, or been better how do we get out of this cycle of night wakings?
