How can DD find someone to take on her room in university accommodation?

DD isn't able to continue living in her room in halls and needs to find someone else to take on the contract. How could she go about this? She has posted on the student room but do you have any other ideas?

Are they private halls or University halls?

What does the University advise?

They're university halls, but are open to students from other universities and colleges in the area. The university has just said that the only way she can be released from her contract is to find another student to take it on, otherwise she is still liable for the fees.

Put posters up in the uni and see if the student union can help advertise.

Ask her (and her friends/classmates) to post and share on their Facebook pages, post on all uni related social media (eg any groups for all the societies/clubs).

Has she thought about putting a message on the studentroom website as well, maybe?

Spareroom? Pretty sure you can advertise student rooms on there

Notice boards both online and physical. Most universities have them.

If the Uni has a facebook page worth posting there.

Stick notices up in the Library.

Tell the Student Union as they are often aware of people struggling to finding accommodation.

See if the Uni has an accomdation office/officer.

See if there is a campus newspaper that she could put an ad.

Tell everyone she knows that their is a room available and could they spread the word.

I doubt people would actually check studentroom ect
In my experience social media is the best way, join freshers fb groups ect for all universities in the local area
Depending on the Uni and the demand it may be difficult to get someone to fill the room. For example on Facebook pages now for my Univeristy there is about 15-20 people asking for people to take their rooms, often offering to pay money if they take the room and at very competitive prices (first year halls are expensive).
