Can anyone tell me about Cyprus?

Starting to think about next summer holiday.

I’m wondering about Cyprus , kids will be age 10 and 14 in the summer.

The things they like are waterparks, beach, bit of history, and an absolute necessity is good internet access (sad but true, teen needs his phone!). They prefer to be in a remote villa.

Does Cyprus fit the bill?

I think there are a million nicer places than Cyprus. I went there pre internet so can’t comment on that but have never forgotten how depressing it was.

Majorca has everything on your list. Prob the larger Greek islands too.

Went to Paphos about two years ago
It was ok..mosaics are excellent
Good bus service if you want to see more of the island
Be sure to take your perfume with you...impossible to buy any

Air Fares are expensive..it was a nice change for us...but won’t be rushing back

It’s very scrubby and not pretty. Limassol is a dump. Think hotel, then shit bar and then clearing where someone has dumped a load of rubbish and repeat.
There are far far nicer places to go and Paphos is underwhelming.
I’ve been four or five times as my sister lived over there on the RAF base abs believe me, that was the nicest place on the island by far.
I got tutted at by an old man for breastfeeding over there too

oh I seem to have visited a difference place judging these comments!
I went to Paphos last year. The hotel was immaculate, private beach, waiter service whilst laid on your sunbed.
Fantastic bus service to the rest of the island. Was the best hotel for Wi-Fi. it was free and worked in every part of the hotel.
I thought it was better than the canaries.

It’s shockingly hot in August, don’t go then. We couldn’t do anything except sit and dip into the pool between the hours of 10-4

Agree with Majorca. Cyprus is not all that nice.

My Dad lives in Paphos, loads to do- brilliant mall, lovely marina. Beaches not fab for little ones as stoney but teenager relatives don’t mind, a couple of water parks plus lots of touristy activities. We have a great time when we visit and have teenagers in the group. I can’t Help with hotels as we stay with him.

OP it was imperial beach (louis group hotels) Beach wasn't huge but was private and had great water sports. We loved it

i love cyprus....protaras is my fav, lovely beaches, loads of watersports if you want, boat trips lovely resturants
close to the water park in ayia napa
