Looking for a picture of Kirkham Abbey

Some years ago I visited the house of a friend’s cousin. She had a beautiful print of Kirkham Abbey, it was painted with a dark stormy sky and I think it was by a woman, the cousin bought it in Whitby. I’ve looked on line several times to see if I can find it as I’d love to get a print but I’ve not had any luck. I lost touch with the friend as she moved abroad so I can’t ask her. Do any mumsneters have or know of the painting? Long shot but worth a try, thanks Smile

Does this help at all?

TillyVonMilly · 20/10/2018 12:51

Unfortunately notBiwi but thanks for helping. I’ve googled Kirkham images but the painting hasn’t come up, it’s a picture of the ruins with a really threatening stormy sky above

What kind of painting is it? i.e. watercolour or oil? And is it traditional or modern style?

Are you sure it was a print? If it was an original watercolour, then you'd be unlikely to find it - unless it comes onto the open market.

Thanks all, from what I rem, it was bought from a small place in Whitby and I’m pretty sure it wasn’t the original, I assume an original would have been £££. I’m going to have a good look later at the link Biwi has posted.
Time wise I’m going back about 15 years since I saw the picture so it’s a long time ago and I’m not sure how long she’d owned it, maybe a couple of years
Thanks again Smile
