Now I realise that anyone under the age of 40 hasnt a clue what I am on about but for those of us old enough to remember, surely I cant be the only one?!

I used to watch it when I was a teenager, from its start until about 1992 when I left home and didnt have a TV for years. Now I am loving classic EE on Drama (Den has just left to live with Jan, leaving a suicidal Angie and a pregnant MEEEEEchelle behind him btw). But every time I hear the theme I have the Anita Dobson earworm and it is driving me barmy :o

Just waiting for The Banned and Wicksy's songs to come in to the show too!

Ha ha! I don't watch EastEnders but my sister is a fan, and I always have an Anita Dobson moment if I'm at her house when she's watching it.

I dont watch it now, havent since I left home but whenever I hear the boom booms I get it!

I dont watch any of the soaps, in fact the only things I watch are reruns of programmes I watched as a child. Currently loving the re runs of Hi de Hi, Are You Being Served and of course early Eastenders! My liberal feminist self puts her fingers in her ears at the less than PC stuff.....

I always do and I'm only early thirties! I've been watching since I was in the womb though.

I was tempted to watch a few episodes of emmerdale when I saw Kim's return advertised (and had to look up how the fuck she might wanna go back!).

But Cba in the end.

I also hate when they re-cast a key character - it's always done badly and the "new" actor makes the character a completely different person.

Nick Tilsley
Peggy Mitchell (seriously google it!)
Sam Mitchell (not helped by the fact Kim medcalf couldn't act if her life depended on it!)
Tracey Barlow
Robert sugden

Sometimes they change the character even without changing the actor

Eg bully Mitchell was a nasty hard drinking child Battering thug when he first was in eastenders - now he's supposed to be a "loveable rogue" 🙄

Not me, my bil told me a number of years ago a guy he knew told him he heard "everybody's going to die" when it came on tv, and that's all I hear now
