I am the least handy person going and I don’t even know what to google so I’m hoping the hive mind can help me out! I’m broke and could do with fixing it myself if I can, basically anything to not get a locksmith out!
I have a lock on my front door (see pictures) which seems to have an internal piece dropped down so I can’t insert the key fully and lock/unlock it. It’s been doing this for a few weeks and I was able to poke it up with a narrow pokey thing and still use the lock.
But not it’s stuck down rendering the lock buggered, especially as it’s stuck unlocked! I have a yale lock further up the door so it’s secure to an extent but I would really like the broken lock to be fixed. It bolts across into the door frame and I feel safer with it working. I also think ExDP may still have a set of keys, so changing the locks is sensible anyway.
So please MN, can it be fixed? And cheaply hopefully!
