Who are your favourites?
I was at work today and the long version of Forever Autumn came on. I had to stop and listen to Richard Burton's voice. It's the same with the beginning of Under Milk Wood. "To begin at the beginning..." His voice makes me go brrrrrrrr!
Also Liam Neeson and Sean Bean. Their voices give me the galloping fanny gallops!! 😂 😂 😂 😂

NomNomNominativeDeterminism · 20/10/2018 00:38

< concerned face, just before the ad break >

7Days · 20/10/2018 00:42

And the crescendo little jingle.

Oooh crescendo

SuperSuperSuper · 20/10/2018 00:42

I saw the title and thought of Richard Burton. I know what Elizabeth T saw in him!

Nunyabusiness · 20/10/2018 00:48

How has nobody mentioned Sir David Attenborough yet?!????!!

PrivateParkin · 20/10/2018 00:48

AlpacaLypse I love The Wicked Lady, and James Mason is fantastic in it.

Claude Rains has a fabulous voice - so smooth! Also Basil Rathbone and James Stewart.

StillMedusa · 20/10/2018 00:50

Patrick Stewart. Saw him at the RSC playing Shylock. Wow. And just generally... love his voice.

David Attenborough. He could read the phone book and I'd listen!

tabbycat1234 · 20/10/2018 00:53

Benedict cumberbatch eg google all the worlds a stage monologue
Sigh

tabbycat1234 · 20/10/2018 00:55

And Matthew McFadyen proposing in pride and prejudice

Oh and Damien Lewis

I must like posh boys....

PrivateParkin · 20/10/2018 00:58

tabbycat1234 yes, I'm with you there. Have you heard him reading the D-Day announcement? It was fantastic - a total shivers down the spine moment.

PrivateParkin · 20/10/2018 00:59

tabby sorry x-post - I meant Benedict.

MyNameIsAlexDrake · 20/10/2018 01:01

Don Warrington (of Rising Damp fame) his voice is pure fanny wallops velvet.

LoveManyTrustfew · 20/10/2018 01:02

David Bowie

China Girl video.

Oh baby just you shut your mouth...

If any man said that to me, I would deck him.

He say's it and I melt. Blush

slightlyjaded · 20/10/2018 01:04

I broadly go wobbly at deep voiced 'London' accents - flat vowels and dropped endings. I know... Blush

My one 'posh' exception is Jack Davenport.

GhoulishGremlins · 20/10/2018 01:04

@Nunyabusiness I did!

ForgotwhatIcameinherefor · 20/10/2018 01:31

I’m really disappointed that none of these do anything for me. I can enjoy Damian Lewis and Jack Davenport (he always sounds like he’s just woken up) but was hoping for so much more Confused

tabbycat1234 · 20/10/2018 01:31

@PrivateParkin thanks no I don't think so - I will google it!

Elderflower14 · 20/10/2018 06:34

@Forgotwhaticameherefor. I used to play with Jack Davenport when we were children. I can't remember it sadly but our Dads used to meet at the pub and Jack and I played in the pub garden. ☺

Benoit Bilin from Bake off the Professionals - I could listen to him all day.

I came on to say Richard Burton too Blush

DuggeesWoggle · 20/10/2018 06:45

There's a continuity announcer with a beautifully deep rich baritone voice - I can't for the life of me remember if it's Radio 4 or Channel 4 but whenever I hear it I feel all warm inside. It's the vocal equivalent of a whisky by a log fire with a blanket.

Barabajagal · 20/10/2018 09:12

Mark Strong’s voice is like being bathed in warm honey.

Terfzilla · 20/10/2018 09:18

Tom Hardys posh voice. And his London one.

Unnf. Gives me the fanny gallops

oksanas · 20/10/2018 09:21

Sarah Lancashire.

mimibunz · 20/10/2018 09:26

Alec Guiness and Alan Rickman
