Anyone flown easyJet recently with kids?

Booking holiday for summer. Will be me DP, DD1 (4) DD2 (1).
First time I have gone in term time, so the costs are eye watering and a bit of a shock.
Normally I book seats, but I am assuming if we didn't that they would have to sit one of us beside DD1, but we might be separated.

Also can't make out the new bag policy, are we allowed cabin bags or not? My eyes are bleeding at the cost once you add in bags and seats.

Flew last summer
We always book the flexi tickets with hold bags as its cheaper
if you do not book seats together you will not get them
cabin bags have to be SMALL

I flew recently, but before the change about cabin bags. I believe that the new rules only allow smaller size backpacks and handbags to be free.

Re seats, I can't speak from personal experience as I've always booked them, I believe an adult would have to be with your youngest, but that might mean being a row behind her or along a row but not next to her. I think you will end up having to ask other flyers to move to accommodate you, which is quite unfair. I would honestly book at least 2 seats together.

Flew at the weekend with my dd, nil issues with bags but ours are small. Didn’t book seating and never have but I always check in the minute that it opens.

Be careful with the bag side of things. We flew easyJet last month and saw a few people who thought they could get away with a large handbag and carry on case get their cases taken off of them and put in the hold.

Re the seats, we've always had no problems getting seats together, just make sure you do the online check in as soon as it's open.

Never never ever book seats. We are always sat together even when we forgot to check in until the day before!

We book seats because we like windows in front of the wing on the left
and if you book hold bags, adding on seat choice is barely more money

Definitely book seats, not worth the risk of not doing it. As others have said, next to your child may actually mean 2 rows away!

You can take one cabin bag each, if it’s a wheely one then only a certain number fit on the plane. If you’re after that number then they’ll take your bag off you at the plane steps and put it in the hold.

Just flown about three weeks ago. You'll get three cabin bags, one for you, do and your oldest. If you've booked a seat for the 1 yr old you'll get a fourth bag. If they will be on your lap you won't but you will get a change bag for them.
You can't have a handbag as well as your cabin luggage, it all had to fit in one.
You may be offered to check your cabin bags if the flights full. We did this on the way as it was easier for getting off the plane along with the baby and we had to wait for hold luggage anyway so weren't going to be saving anytime.
I'd pay for seats just for the piece of mind but most likely if you were separated it would be one adult and one child each. If they were to seat your oldest separately, they'd have to make a change on the aircraft. They couldn't expect a complete stranger to be responsible for her

*You also get two free items for the baby, buggy or car seat or cot

When I travelled with my 3yo and 6mo, my 3yo was out a couple of rows behind me for a connecting flight. We were told we didn't need to reserve seats. people helped me out. Since then, I have always booked and paid for specific seats, even though the oldest is now in double figures.

Thanks all. I definitely don't want to be the person who expects to get something for free that others have paid for. Definitely don't want to risk 4yr old not being near us, she would create havoc.

Don't really care if they take the cabin bags off us as we will be putting the pram on anyway.
