Just failed my 2nd driving test..

So I've just failed my 2nd driving test!! How many times did it take you to pass? I'm a good driver but just seem to drive like I'm on my 1st ever lesson when it comes to my test.. nerves just take over! Its really getting me down now I just want to pass as it would help me and my family out so much. Help

I passed on my 4th attempt. DS had 5 tries and passed on his 5th (after taking a test which entitles him to drive automatics only). It's fine. He and his wife prefer automatics anyway. Good luck for next time!

My brother passed on his 4th or 5th and he's a great driver. He just couldn't control his nerves with an examiner in the car. He just kept trying until he managed it. You'll get there!!

2nd for me. 2nd for DS, 3rd for DW, Nephew 4th. Keep going and you will pass.

4 times here. Keep going. You will get there in the end and it is such a game changer in terms of independence.

3rd time lucky for me. Nerves got me every time but by my third I was resigned to failing so just didn't really care and I passed.

3rd time lucky and I'm a brilliant driver.

DH failed 3 in London, went out to the suburbs and passed straight away. Most people I know passed 2nd or 3rd and I can think of more than a few that passed 1st time but are terrible drivers. Don’t give up!

I passed first time (no minors) but nobody else I know did. Most passed third time actually.

I don't think there's a correlation between when you pass and how good you are in most cases. Nerves and luck are the key factors.

4th. I was on beta blockers for nerves for that one.

3rd. Also because of nerves. They only reason I passed the third time was because by then I pretty much in the mindset of “fuck it, three times, four times, what does it matter now?”

Passed on my third. I hit a pedestrian on my first test (not badly, but it makes a good pub story).

Passed on the third attempt. I'd even done an intensive course the first time round which apparently had a 95%pass rate!!

I found it the hardest thing I've ever done. I was 30 by the time I got round to doing it and remember being terrified to be in charge of a car.

That was quite a few years ago and I now enjoy driving.

Keep at it. It really makes a difference when you get that licence!
