Anyone else having severe pain around the sides of the hips & in perimenopause?

I don't know if the two are linked, but I have really fucking awful pain around the outer areas of my hips that feels like a cross between being extremely 'rusty' inside or locked-up. The pain is quite excruciating. I don't have anything like the energetic mobility I used to & I'm only 48! I've had various x-rays & an mri & they tell me the joints are all perfect. I'm moderately fit, I swim 3 times a week. I want this shitty pain to go away because it's massively impacting on my life now. Has anyone else had this?

Yes. I'm the same age, pretty fit but have a nagging pain in back hip area. Had xrays and it's bloody arthritis! Currently using hemp oil every night and that's eased it a lot.

@helacells are you taking a tablet or rubbing the oil on ?

I'm not sure I have the same pain as you OP, but I have definite hip pain and one sided pain across the back of my pelvis since the menopause. I've had an MRI scan and there are no major problems but some facet joint inflammation and minimal wear and tear. So, I've started yoga and I have a programme of stretches and core strength exercises I do 3 or 4 times a week which has really helped. I also take glucosamine daily, but I'm not sure that's doing much. Try some regular core strength exercises and see if your symptoms improve. Even fit people can have poor core strength. Getting older sucks out loud.
