Should I cancel ds’s flu spray?

He’s due to have it tomorrow morning, we’re flying out on holiday in the afternoon for a week abroad. Ds is nearly 3 and last night had a fever and was sick. He seems ok now, just a bit snotty, lethargic and coughy.

This is our one family holiday of the year and I really don’t want him to be poorly for it. But if I cancel the flu spray we go to the bottom of the list - surgery is only getting a certain amount in each week so are only offering it to batches of people at a time. Cancelling means he may not be offered it again.

Dc1 has had his spray at school, dh and I aren’t eligible for it. Neither dc have ever had any side effects from the spray but equally they’ve never had it when they were already under the weather. We don’t have daily contact with anyone suffering with low immunity (as far as I know obviously).

Go to the appointment; take the nurse's advice.

I wouldn't cancel. I'd go and see.

My DC had theirs the other day. They are also flying in the next few days and I was all smug that they'd be covered and not pick it up on the plane. But oh no, it doesn't kick in for two weeks. That puts us in November, so I'd definitely have it now if the nurse administering it thinks it's fine to.

Thanks. Ds has now got a fever again and been vomiting all afternoon. I tried to cancel earlier but couldn’t get through on the phone and no other way to contact them unless I go down in person. Which I can’t do as I’m at home with my vomiting 2yo. I’ve sent them an email to the address on the surgery website which sent me an auto reply back saying the email address is no longer in use. I guess I’m going to be another no show appointment that the surgery is always complaining about.
