Ideally something I could make in advance and freeze.

My mind has gone blank Grin Needs to be reasonably easy to eat standing up.

Chilli. Everyone loves chilli. I bl00dy love a chilli. You can pull tortillas, sour cream, guacamole etc out of the fridge on the day.

Now that is a great idea.

Thanks!

Another one is jacket potatoes, variety of fillings. Or a big batch of vegetable stew and dumplings. Yum!

I am making 'hog roast at home' bbc good food recipient served in buns with coleslaw. It looks amazing.

You can prep and freeze the meat before cooking.

Chilli, rice, nachos, guacamole, sour cream etc. Easy enough to eat out of a bowl standing up. Can be made veggie easily too.

Goulash ('ghoul-ash') with dumplings, new potatoes, crusty bread and vegetables/salad.

Hot dogs (with proper sausages in a few different flavours), with crispy onions (the type you get on salads). Bang out salad, coleslaw/potato salad, corn on the cob, chips and sauces to help themselves to.

Homemade Nando's goes down a treat at ours. Similar to above but with marinaded chicken (frozen) and spicy rice, corn on the cob, garlic bread and halloumi for veggies.

I like the idea of this pumpkin hummus as a centrepiece, but could be a faff: https://www.bbcgoodfood.com/recipes/pumpkin-houmous

Insert witty Halloween puns as you wish

I love chilli but bloody hate kidney beans, having to eat round them is a nightmare!

So my vote is for kidney bean less chilli, lovely quality sausages in brioche buns or pulled pork in wraps
