Furniture polish in washing machine...

My DH has washed some car cleaning cloths in the washing machine. Now the washer stinks of car polish. And worse than that, so do all of the clothes we wash.
I’ve run the washer 8 times now using a variety of things - washing machine cleaner, laundry cleaner, bicarb, biological powder, 60 - 95 degrees but no change.

Does anyone else have any ideas what we could do before we have to condemn the machine?!

Try doing an empty hot wash with just white vinegar in it

Thanks red - I haven’t tried vinegar yet because I can’t stand the smell of vinegar. Will give it a go though as I have nothing to lose now!

Have you wiped down the seals with some detergent?

Yes, seals, drawer, filter all cleaned

Soda crystals (washing soda) definitely should be worth a g on a long 95 degree wash. There must be some stinky sludge somewhere and this will hopefully dissolve them. Also, if yours is a modern machine that reduces the water use if you have a low load then put a load if old towels ir something in so that it fills properly full.

Obviously this is an old message but I’m in the exact same situation! Partner works I at a car valet place and brought some cleaning cloths home to wash. Now my washer smells strong of polish and everything I wash in the machine comes out smelling the same!!
how do I get rid of the smell. Washer has had so many cycles and this smell will not go 😭😭😭😭
