Candida overgrowth anyone know?

I was told after having a gastroscopy in August that I had Candida in the esophagus so I was prescribed 2 weeks of fluconazole. Hard to know if it's gone or not but I have some symptoms again that suggest it's still there. To cut a long post short is there anyone here who has suffered this and what helped/ cured it? I am guessing it's an overgrowth from what I've read?

Have they find out what species of Candida? Not all of them are susceptible to Fluconazole.

No I was just prescribed them by the gastroscopy surgeon and told it should clear it up. No other tests were done but I saw my doctor yesterday who seemed to brush it off but prescribed me another 2 week dose of fluconazole. She told me to make an appointment with a dietitian as that would help me. I'm healthy apart from asthma, under active thyroid and acid reflux.
