What do you chat about?

I've realised I am incredibly dull. I love being at work - I am at my best in challenging meetings presenting tough arguments. Outside of work (or even in work at social times) I have absolutely nothing to say apart from talk about my kids. It's either kids or work - I have no hobbies, don't watch tv, never watch movies, only read bits of news. I suppose I can comment on the weather but literally nothing else. I feel I have tens of years to catch up on before I can join in. Anyone else? Any advice??

Is there a reason you don't read the news, watch TV etc apart from being short of time? I do think its worth investing a bit of effort, it gives you a good start on chat. I don't watch much TV or many films but I browse news websites and absorb a suprising amount from MN. I also follow local pages on FB in the town I work in as well as my home town so I can join in chat about things like new developments, roadworks, new shops, restaurants etc. Then there is the weather, what did people do at the weekend, remembering a few facts about your colleagues families so you can ask how their work is going or whatever.
