Should we cook and eat a fish pie past its best before?

Dh bought a lovely fish pie, went to put it in the oven only to discover he'd bought a reduced one dated best before 13th Oct

I'm a bit weird about food and best before dates and it's fish..should we risk it?

Lord No! I wouldn't. If it smells alright I maybe would but I don't know about fish.

I wouldn't

I am slack as anything with food ( e.g. I had out of date sushi for lunch yesterday and have lived to tell the tale), but 4 day out of date fish pie is pushing it even for me. I would be doing a very careful sniff test before and after cooking, tasting a tiny bit before deciding. And have a back up meal option available.

Best before? Not Use by?
I would.

And if your fridge is nice & cold and you're going to cook it til piping hot, I'd still eat it if it's UB.

I've smelt it..it smells 'fishy' obviously, but I can't decide if it's so fishy because it's out of date.
