What Job?

Any ideas of what job a teacher can do that's not classroom secondary school teaching?

Qualifications are a PhD in Chemistry and a masters in education.

Can't bear teaching secondary school kids anymore.

Don't want something entry level - mortgage and kids to afford!

Anyone got any bright ideas? Feeling awful at the thought of returning to teaching after maternity leave.

Thanks. Smile

With a PhD in chemistry I'd imagine the world is your oyster. Could you see a careers advisor?

1:1 private tutoring, self-employed?
Science technician in school labs (not great pay but less contact with kids and none with parents 😉).
Self-employed Science-themed parties?

Teach adults, or at university, where presumably they're there because they want to learn.

I click on these threads for ideas...

Its nearly always ex teachers like myself :(

I wish I'd qualified in something else in my 20s

I think a careers advisor is a good idea. Thanks for your thoughts.
