Has anyone had a dental implant?

I’ve broken a tooth today and the dentist doesn’t think it can be saved, so I’m possibly looking at a dental implant. She didn’t think a crown would be a possibility either because of the way it broke.

Has anyone had a dental implant and could give me an indication of cost? Do I need to sell a kidney???

I had a dental implant earlier this year to replace a very old root canal that had finally snapped. Total cost - £3000 including twilight sedation (which I could have done with while paying too). This was in central London.

Oh good god, that’s a fortune! Maybe I’ll just leave a gap and style it out by accessorising it with a pirate hat.
