Looking a new tablet as ipad has stopped working. Any recommendations? Would be using it mainly to watch films and browse the internet. Budget is £150.

We got a Samsung tablet once but it was awful so don’t have much advice!

Could you look at getting a second hand iPad? I think they are much better.

Thanks, that's good to know as I was actually looking at the Samsung ones this morning!

Depends who it is for but we got DD a 10 inch amazon fire tablet for £100 when they were on offer. It has done very well and is easy for a 3 year old to operate. Apps are bit rubbish sometimes.

I'm on my second Samsung Tab2 and love it, previous one fell in the bath so no trouble prior to that. Only I use it so not idea how it would withstand children.

Amazon fire tablet 7" is like £50.
They're fab and do everything I need it too.
Netflix, YouTube, prime, internet etc. And plays some games well too.

No massive recommendations - but I'm increasingly unimpressed with Samsung - and I was a Samsung groupie for years and years and years. The last tablet I had was Samsung... battery went to absolute shite in under a year... replacement battery didn't last much longer, and my last phone was a Samsung, had their phones for donkeys years - and again, was unimpressive.

I've currently got a Lenovo yogabook - and, while Lenovo are shit getting Android updates out, as a piece of kit it's been bloody well indestructible - I've dropped it a fair few times, and it gets slung in a handbag and not treated very nicely at all and it's as good as new- but like I say... think they've left things a couple of Android versions behind.

My kids have amazon fire tablets. They've had them for the past 3 years and still going strong. They are the 7 inch ones, they were £50 but you can get bigger sizes too.

I have an Amazon fire which is under your budget but is fantastic.

I got a Samsung one recently & it's great. I'd definitely recommend it

My son has had his 7 inch Samsung for 4 or 5 years, still going.

Although I had one die on me in much less time.

Thanks everyone, will take a look at the Amazon fire 😊
