Not if what to do

What would you do if your child told you their best friends mum had head butted her during an argument on the weekend? She's told him in confidence obviously & he suggested telling the school counsellor but she said she didn't want anyone to do anything about it. He's told me because he's worried about her.
Obviously I could call someone but she's 14 & has said she doesn't want anyone involved, i don't know anything else about it.

I'd probably get her to come over for tea or something and if you are close get her to confide in you and try to guide her in the right direction. This may not be a regular occurrence (not that it matters), but if this sort of behaviour is happening regularly it needs to be reported.
