They are the old style sash windows and impossible to clean i cant reach out far enough. Is there an implement?

Some years back I bought a cleaning kit with a magnet in it, the idea was that you put one half of the (fairly heavy) cleaning tool on the outside of the window and the other half on the inside. As you moved the one on the inside to clean the inside of the window, then the outside one would also move and clean the outside of the window.

Sounded great! Was rubbish! The magnets were strong, but even so the outside tool had no oomph behind it so moved "over" the dirt rather than shifting it. And it would keep losing connectivity and fall right off the window. Luckily it was on a string, so it only fell a couple of feet...so I wasn't braining passing pedestrians every time I got the urge to spring clean.

Watching with interest though, because if there IS an effective tool to do this, then I'd like one as well.

I've just had a flashback to my mother (and all the neighbourhood women) cleaning the windows, sitting on the outside windowsill facing inwards!

I'd just pay a man to do it with a big telescopic brush and hose! Much easier!

Can you pay a window cleaner?

Pay a window cleaner?

Is there a block management company that you pay a service charge to? They should be organising that kind of stuff.

With reach and wash they will- the pole system. What area are you? If local to me I can recommend, mine are done off the pole system and they sparkle

They wont come out as they wont park up

"Won't park up"? That sounds like the kind of bullshit excuse a tradesperson gives when they don't want to do the job. Try another.

If it's only first or second floor then long pole from the outside works. I'm sure I've got something like that somewhere, never used it.
