Should I take dd to see a doctor?

Dd 2.8 has been unwell since Friday evening. I'm pretty sure it's just a viral sore throat and chesty cough but it's her fifth day now and she's suffering still, especially overnight. Her throat and cough sound very sore, she's running a temperature and is barely eating. As a family we're not ones to rush to a doctor with every slight cough or sneeze and waste their time/ infect everyone etc but everyone around me seems to think she should see a doctor. I am worried they will think I'm wasting their time.

If you're in any doubt seek medical advice even if it's just calling 111 or your gp practice to talk through your concerns. If she has a cough she may have a chest infection and need antibiotics. It's not worth letting things get worse and at the very least you'll get some reassurance.

I would take her in case she has a chest infection as PP said.

After 5 days if it was a cold she would be showing signs of improving, if not better already. Can you take her to a walk in clinic if a GP appointment would be too long?

Def take her. I had a cough and temp and just felt rotten, thought I was coming down with the flu/a virus, I have pneumonia.

Thank you. I wanted a sensible opinion. It's easy for well meaning friends and family to advise me to take her to a doctor but I know most things just have run their course.

She's asleep now but I've called the gp and they have suggested an appointment today.

How you are getting better now Brazzle.

She had her worst night last night but seems to have turned a corner this evening, thanks for asking. Gp gave her the all clear yesterday, thanks again for the advice.
