What could you achieve in 2 hours?

I've had a hopelessly unproductive morning on mumsnet so inspire me with ideas for what could be achieved in the two hours or so before I have to pick up the dc except sleeping

Watching for ideas. Whilst flickering between work computer, ironing pile, kitchen, washing pile and the dust gathering in the corner...

DollyWilde · 16/10/2018 12:39

Load of washing on, surface clean the kitchen. 15 min break with a cuppa then change the beds maybe? Do a meal plan?

GrumpyOldMare · 16/10/2018 12:39

I dusted, hoovered, put the washing out, made my bed, went to Asda, now sat down with a cuppa. All in just under 2 hours.

I've no idea. My daughters two hour nap started an hour ago and so far I've been on mumsnet and thought about finding a bin bag to start clearing clothes for the charity shop.
A lot of potential being missed in this household today.

kaytee87 · 16/10/2018 12:45

In 2 hours I could clean the most used rooms in the house.

In 2 hours I could have a lovely spa bath; face mask, hair mask, exfoliate, hair removal & moisturise

In 2 hours I could watch 2 episodes of a good box set.

In 2 hours I could do the shopping and put it away.

Really it depends what needs done :)

kaytee87 · 16/10/2018 12:46

Ds 2 hour nap started at 12 and so far I've tidied his playroom and had lunch. There's not really anything else that needs done tbh.

NorthEndGal · 16/10/2018 12:48

In 2hours:
Throw a load of laundry on to run in the background
Make the bed
Empty the garbage
Wash and dry the dishes
Move wash into the dryer, throw second load in to wash
Wipe the table and counters
Wash the stoves face
Sweep kitchen
Fold laundry
And then fuck all for the rest of the morning!Grin

A lot of potential being missed in this household today.

I sometimes wonder just what I might have achieved with all the hours I spend on here Blush

I did some washing earlier and hoovering yesterday. I really should get some lunch but just feel a bit paralysed by inertia, iyswim.

Oh, I was thinking more along the lines of create some art, watch a good film, start off a short story, read a novel, take a nice walk, have coffee!

Dontfeellikeamillenial · 16/10/2018 12:51

Both bathrooms
kitchen
Dinner prepped
laundry on
laundry in dryer

That's about it

Misty9 · 16/10/2018 13:20

I achieved lunch Grin

Different question then: what would you do with two extra hours in your day?

Blackladybug · 16/10/2018 13:28

Ive done a lot today, Load of washing, load in tumble dryer, tidied kitchen, dining room, bathroom bins, play room. Moved crap off stairs, made the bed, folded and put away washing. Done 2 loads of dishwasher. I'd like a 2 hour nap and a house cleaning fairy!

FurryBuzzer · 16/10/2018 13:33

I like Vanellope's list the best!

In two hours I could...

Write an email to an old friend I've lost touch with

Get my macro lens out of the bottom drawer and go for a walk in the countryside taking close up photos of autumn leaves and bugs

Sign up for a blog page (always wanted to do one!) and write my first post

Learn to crochet by watching you tube videos, make a start on a granny square blanket like the one I was admiring in a craft fair at the weekend

Have a long deep bath with a face mask and then a home pedicure

And probably some other productive useful stuff too!

GMtoBe · 16/10/2018 13:36

There's lots I could achieve. What I would actually do though is have a bath with a cup of tea then a nap!

itsbritneybiatches · 16/10/2018 13:57

I did two hours of batch cooking this morning for the freezer.

I did it last week and now I have seven days worth of evening meals for three adults.

Eatmycheese · 16/10/2018 14:01

Put a wash in
Put the tumble dryer on
Unloaded dishawasher and put stuff away
Changed baby
Fed baby
Walked baby and dog
Hoovered
Changed my bed
Did recycling
Went to collect daughter from Nursery

I’m totally knackered now but off out again in half an hour to walk up to school to collect DS1

I find the minute I sit down I grind to a halt and then I’m fucked

thenewaveragebear1983 · 16/10/2018 14:03

I’m looking after a 1 year old today and she is rather clingy, and as she’s not mine I am being especially careful with her! So for two hours I have done nothing! I’d forgotten these baby days and how unproductive they can be.

SleepingStandingUp · 16/10/2018 14:06

Can I have my extra 2 hours from 5 am so like 5am, 5.1 am, 5.2 am, 6 am?
Then sleep. Kid normally sleeps at this time of day.

In my two hours off a day I
Study
Read
Lunch
Relax
Watch crap telly
Look at the housework

I figure I deserve down time!

SDTGisAnEvilWolefGenius · 16/10/2018 15:13

I could watch tv and have a nap!

Misty9 · 16/10/2018 15:14

I finally put the phone down and managed to make cupcakes in 15mins! Not sure what I did with the other 90mins... Blush

Tomorrow will be better if I hide my phone
