Following my original plan in mind, I’d like to start TTC next month for baby #2. I’d have liked a smaller age gap but we couldn’t afford two in childcare.
Now the time has come around (DC1 is soon eligible for childcare funding) I am considering whether to wait one more year, and save the cost of current childcare to have some savings behind us.
Option 1: Start TTC next month, have the smaller age gap I prefer - financially would be ok, perhaps a little tight towards the end of mat leave.
Option 2: wait a year, larger age gap (4.5yrs) but have some savings aside which would make us financially a bit more comfortable.
Head over heart - part of me thinks ‘screw it’, there is more to life than money and DC will grow up closer together. Other part of me thinks some cash would be useful.
How did you decide when to try for another baby? Can anyone offer any advice?
