We’ve been to Lido de Jesolo on the Venetian Riveria 5 times. It has a beautiful sandy beach lovely pedestrianised centre and only an hour by bus/ferry from Venice.

mycatplotsdeath · 15/10/2018 20:23

@Toomuchadoaboutnothing is it still busy in September?

been to ca savio with is along the coast from lido de jesolo - was in the 90s but was great, lovely beach and a boat ride away from venice id love to go back one day

Yes been to Lido de Jesolo 3 times in the last 5 years. Previously went in the early 90's and wanted to return.
Absolutely love it. Close to Venice for day trips. Easy to get to Verona, well worth a visit. Also near to Lake Garda - Sirmione, breathtaking.

Cam recommend Hotel Principe Palace, perfectly placed on Piazza Mazzini with excellent food and service.

Yes, I have- absolutely beautiful. I also went in September.

Honeyroar · 15/10/2018 20:34

September should be quieter. Italians tend to leave the beaches at the end of August, declaring it over!

mycatplotsdeath · 15/10/2018 20:36

Ooo this is sounding promising.
Thanks everyone

We were there in August for the last few years with a group of friends at a campsite in Cavallino. We live in Germany so its only a 6 hour drive for us to get there. We just love it there .Its a simple holiday and we tend to just get up every day go to the beach and loll around for a week.We usually take one trip in to Venice with the ferry that leave s hourly from Punta Sabaioni .If you leave at around 4pm most of the cruise ships/day trippers have left and Venice is (relatively) quiet.September should be quieter as a large proportion of the holiday makers there are German and from Bavaria .Bavarian schools go back mid September.
Our kids and their friends are now 18/20 yrs and love Jesolo and were well impressed with the nightlife there.

Looking at going around the 19th of September

It’s been about 3 years from I’ve been. The resort usually did start to quiten down mid September but I’m not sure if it’s still the case. I second The Principe Palace to stay. Nearly all the hotels have their own allocated places on the beach with beds/umbrellas. We did day trips to Venice (one of my most favourite places), Verona and Treviso.

mycatplotsdeath · 15/10/2018 21:25

I'm convinced.
I'm booking it now

Go for it OP. Let us know where you’re staying.

Honeyroar · 16/10/2018 11:26

Yes let us know how you went on. It's somewhere I fancy revisiting, haven't been for decades.

bigbluebus · 16/10/2018 12:09

We went to Lido di Jesolo a few years ago - although it was in June not September. We found that there were'nt that many British people there - and those that were seemed to be mainly staying on the campsite further down from the town (we stayed in a hotel and were the only English people at breakfast every day).

The bus trip and boat ride across to Venice is very easy from Lido so easy to spend a day in Venice.

Just check the temperatures for that time of year if you want a beach type holiday - it is quite a long way north. We were in Southern Italy this year from 25th Sept and it was only 17C - 23C in the daytime.
