Talk to Me About Gluten Intolerance

Suspect DD has it. She’s recently complaining of feeling sick but she’s not properly sick, just brings up warm liquid. I wonder if that’s acid reflux which can be linked to gluten intolerance, I believe. DD also has sometimes quite dramatic bloating, constipation/ diorrhea (sp), very smelly faeces, headaches, aching limbs etc.

It could be. Ask your GP for a coeliac blood test before cutting out gluten though.

Do get her to see a GP asap and then the tests can be started before cutting gluten out.

I’ve made an appt. She does have quite a lot of carbs ( fussy eater) so therefore consumes a lot of wheat

Im intolerant and get aches and pains when I eat it. Ive not been tested as I gave up gluten for 6 months first. I bitterly regret it but cant bear going back to eating it as I know within hours.

My DSs girlfriend gets bloating and a few other symptoms but she did the right thing and got tested first. She had to wait a little while but now she knows she is celiac and also was given access to a dietician group which discuss cooking and eating out etc. Just last week we wanted to eat out and she had an app that showed restaurants around us that were registered or something with celeiac app. Really good to be able to pick from that app and she had a reasonable choice and was taken seriously.

Hope she doesnt have to wait too long
