Dreading smear results

Literally dreading my smear test results.
Had CIN3 a few years ago, when my DD was only a few months old. Had repeat smear 6 months later which was fine, but last week I’ve had my routine smear, 3 years after my last one.
I honestly think with CIN3 they should do yearly smears, but apparently protocol says no.
Anyway I’m dreading another result with dodgy cells.
I REALLY don’t want a lletz again, it was horrible.
I know that it removes the pre cancerous cells which is a good thing, but it’s so uncomfortable and undignified and I don’t think anyone would look forward to having it done again.
Does anyone know the likelihood of having dodgy cells again 3 years after previous CIN3?
Dreading the post coming through the door every day.
Last time my results took twice as long as my friends who came back clear, so in my head the longer they take the worse the news will be.

No one with experience of this?

Didn't want to leave you hanging, but from memory a friend of mine had laser treatment a couple of years ago following a CIN3. I'm afraid I can't remember whether she had follow-up smears after this, but it might depend on your local health authority, as I think the rules aren't necessarily the same across the country.

Keeping everything crossed for you x

I had a lletz over 20 years ago and all my smears have been normal since. I had one a couple of weeks ago so results not back, hopefully they will be fine. The nurse who took the smear said all looked well.

I guess the positive is that you had the test and if there is something they will pick it up early. As undignified as the lletz procedure is the alternative is much worse. Try not to worry and hopefully all will be ok.

That gives me hope that 20 years later all is still ok.
Will just have to wait and see I suppose!

It’s come back all clear.
What a relief. Convinced myself I’d need treatment again!
