Has anyone been to the Discover Dogs show?

Is it just for potential owners or just a fun day out in any case?

11 year old dd is an animal lover, we have a cat and guinea pigs but she would love a dog one day (so would I). However my dh isn't that keen, my middle dd is very much against it and our cat might be a problem. So we're not getting a dog just yet.

I don't know if taking her to the Discover Dogs show would get her hopes up and want a dog even more. Or would it be ok if I explain that it's just a day out and we're not getting a dog at the moment?

It's a lovely day out for anyone who owns/loves/likes dogs and it's a great way to meet loads of different breeds. The dogs there tend to be super friendly and real "people" dogs so my only worry (in your shoes) would it just making her want a dog even more!

It's a good day out even if you aren't thinking about getting a dog. We went a few years ago and they have loads of breeds to meet, and some good dog shows (like the police dog one). We went even though we lived in a rented flat and had no option to get a dog.
