Yay another royal baby!

OP posts:
skippy67 · 15/10/2018 09:39

Exactly.

wtffgs2 · 15/10/2018 09:39

So don't read them then 🤷🏼‍♀️

It is going to be hard to avoid it all.

Hiding the thread but MN does seem to be getting rabidly royalist Wink

Georgina125 · 15/10/2018 09:45

Of course, it is highly classy of them to announce their news on the last day of Babyloss Awareness Week. Having lost my son 3 months ago, I am clearly very hyper sensitive and still struggling with my horrific loss. But seeing people telling their stories over the last week has helped me feel less alone. Today, seeing the last day of Baby loss Awareness week hijacked in the most ironic way possible, makes me realise I really am no longer part of this world.

QueenOfMyWorld · 15/10/2018 09:49

I think she was pregnant at the wedding but so what it's 2019

QueenOfMyWorld · 15/10/2018 09:49

2018 of course but you know what I mean 😁

oldgimmer78 · 15/10/2018 09:52

I heard on R4 that they announced it at Eugenie's wedding, felt a bit sorry for her, but pleased for the couple. The baby won't have a royal title apparently.

SillySallySingsSongs · 15/10/2018 09:53

Of course, it is highly classy of them to announce their news on the last day of Babyloss Awareness Week.

Personally I think it's lovely. I say that as someone who has had several miscarriages and had a beautiful sleeping DC.

I struggle terribly at this time of year especially but I think it's nice news.

zenasfuck · 15/10/2018 09:54

bet she goes into “premature” labour. Still convinced she looked pregnant at the wedding.

Well it would mean she is over 5 months, so no she wasn't.

Apparently she's 21 weeks

PaulHollywoodsSexGut · 15/10/2018 09:55

I suspect strongly it was announced to stop all the speculation and chatter.

On seeing that coat at the wedding “is she pregnant” was my first thought - a completely normal, passing wonder on a high profile public figure who’s my age and has just got married into one of the worlds most traditional insitiutions.

Being happy for them is no crime and previous speculation is to be expected to some degree.

It’s nice news, good news, and brings a degree of light relief from the standard upsetting and unsettling news of the world at present.

Puzzledandpissedoff · 15/10/2018 09:58

I heard on R4 that they announced it at Eugenie's wedding

TBF it probably became pretty obvious with her shape and having to refuse alcohol

And I do hope the locals won't take it as an insult if they do avoid Zika areas ... only too easy for mischief makers to paint it as "waaahh, they think we're a dirty, diseased hellhole"

AnonaMouse1 · 15/10/2018 10:06

How would they announce it at the wedding though!?

At the end of the speeches?
A note in the gift bags?

How?

MiddlingMum · 15/10/2018 10:10

*How would they announce it at the wedding though!?

Or maybe just a quiet word with the father's dad, brother, granny and grandpa, etc. You know, like any normal person would.

MiddlingMum · 15/10/2018 10:10

Bold fail.

Georgina125 · 15/10/2018 10:14

I am glad you can be happy for them. Maybe one day I will be happy for people who get the happy ending I was denied.

My point though was that they should have announced on a less cruelly ironic day. It would have made little difference to them.

owlshooting · 15/10/2018 10:18

Very pleased for them, but noticed Harry looked grim and sulky at the wedding, and he still looks that way arriving in Australia. Strange.

Shapecutter · 15/10/2018 10:19

I don't think they had much choice in when they announced it, they would have needed to announce before the tour and to do it last week would have stolen the glory of the wedding.

I think it's lovely news for them.

strawberrisc · 15/10/2018 10:25

@bellanotte22

Happy for them! Maybe a bit mean to announce at Eugenie's wedding if the stories are to be believed.

My family would have been delighted if I had done this. I suppose it depends on your family.

SillySallySingsSongs · 15/10/2018 10:27

I don't think they had much choice in when they announced it, they would have needed to announce before the tour and to do it last week would have stolen the glory of the wedding.

I agree. Last week will have been unfair to Eugenie and later this week will take the focus away from the Invictus Games which neither will want to do, especially Harry.

QueenoftheNights · 15/10/2018 10:28

Given her age, does anyone think they might have started trying before the wedding?

She must be 3 months by now which means she would have conceived in one or at most, two cycles.

carnitine · 15/10/2018 10:28

Yes, I also noticed Harry has been looking very irritated lately. Maybe he was annoyed about all the speculation.

owlshooting · 15/10/2018 10:29

I imagine they had to announce it in case M is feeling ill and to explain why she isn't drinking. It won't be much fun doing that tour feeling sick and exhausted. I remember Diana saying how appalling she felt when she was pregnant with Harry and no one knew.

YearOfYouRemember · 15/10/2018 10:29

I knew someone would moan about Harry and Meghan taking spotlight from Eugenie and Jack. How ridiculous. What probably happened was all the family were there so ideal time to tell, they can tell the public and get space while on their overseas trip and most people, when loved up on their wedding day, are more than happy to have extra joy.

QueenoftheNights · 15/10/2018 10:30

Surely she will have waited till she is 14 weeks before the announcement anyway to avoid being ill in public?

mateysmum · 15/10/2018 10:31

Is it too soon and presumptuous to say ...

"Welcome to the MN pregnancy boards Meghan"

Can you imagine her first AIBU

AIBU to expect my grandmother - in - law to babysit my little prince/princess more often? The way she acts like she's too busy and important, anybody would think she's the Queen.

MN replies "It's a DH problem not a grandmother problem. LTB"

PennyMordauntsLadyBrain · 15/10/2018 10:35

The comments projecting that she’ll have the baby “prematurely” Hmm.

Seriously, wise up. Ridiculous suggestion and pretty offensive to anyone that’s been through a premature labour to suggest that a privileged couple in 2018 would lie about such a thing for no good reason.
