This is fantastic news. She is an amazing girl and we should all get right behind this stunning couple. The entire Royals have given so much to this country but the new generation like Kate and Meghan take them into whole new league. Stunning news.

GreatDuckCookery6211 · 15/10/2018 09:26

Maybe they asked Eugenie and Jack if it was ok to announce? I can't imagine they would just take it upon themselves to break the news without speaking to them first. Or they already knew anyway.

bellinibobble · 15/10/2018 09:26

@RedDwarves Fiji and Tonga, apparently they are visiting those places..

CaseStudyResearch · 15/10/2018 09:28

I reckon they made the announcement at the start of the tour so that there’s no speculation when she doesn’t go to Tonga/Fiji.

I can imagine she will either stay in NZ or even fly over to LA for a few days while Harry does the rest on his own.

golondrina · 15/10/2018 09:28

The entire Royals have given so much to this country haahahahahahahahahahahhahahahahaha

RosieBenenden · 15/10/2018 09:33

Anyone with a brain knows the level of business and tourist revenue they have created.

FlamingJuno · 15/10/2018 09:44

I reckon they made the announcement at the start of the tour so that there’s no speculation when she doesn’t go to Tonga/Fiji.

KP has already said that there will be no change to the planned schedule, and that they have taken medical advice re zika.

IStandWithPosie · 15/10/2018 09:53

I would imagine the important royals knew before the wedding, which will include Eugenie and husband as they will have checked that it was ok to tell others whilst there because it would be unavoidable.

EleanorLavish · 15/10/2018 09:59

If I was getting married and a close relative was near ‘announcing’ a pregnancy, I would have said do it at the wedding when everyone is there!
It’s the prefect opportunity and I think too many people make a big deal of their precious ‘moment’ being upstaged.
I doubt Harry stood up during the speeches and said actually hear is the big news of the day....

flopsyrabbit1 · 15/10/2018 12:35

i hope they didnt use one of them dodgy "clear blue"tests

vandrew4 · 15/10/2018 12:42

rosiebeneden I'm assuming you're taking the piss

Thymeout · 15/10/2018 12:51

The Queen had a private lunch for close family immediately after the service. We'd have heard about it sooner if it had been announced to all 850 guests.

Difficult to see when else they could have announced it. Before the tour, but not till after the scan. It would have looked bad to do it before the wedding. Only a small window.

I think the Mail is just stirring. They're building a narrative of competition between the 2 couples, probably true in Andrew's case. Sells more papers.

KPjoenix · 15/10/2018 16:01

I'm really surprised she isn't giving the zika areas a complete miss. She's nuts to take the risk. Not all the security in the world is going to stop her from getting mosquito bite.

EnidButton · 15/10/2018 16:07

It might be practical but it's beyond tacky to announce a pregnancy at someone else's wedding. No-one can say it, including the bride, as they'll look like selfish arseholes, but it's tacky af.

GeorgieTheGorgeousGoat · 15/10/2018 16:19

They haven’t said they announced it at the wedding, they said the family were able to congratulate them at the wedding. Quite different.

Thymeout · 15/10/2018 17:29

Enid So when would you have done it? Before the wedding? Before the scan? They were leaving for Oz the next day.

It doesn't sound as if it was a big announcement to all 850 guests.

SymphonyofShadows · 15/10/2018 20:31

Nothing will have been done without strict observance to protocol. I'm a total republican and even I realise that.

Butterymuffin · 15/10/2018 20:34

I wonder if the Tonga / Fiji stops will stay officially on the tour so as not to cause offence but then Meghan will be slightly unwell when the day arrives and Harry will go alone.
