Stupid iPhone update

I’ve updated the iOS on my iPhone and it’s cocked everything up . It won’t ping when a text comes through , and I can’t do strike through a on MN any more .

Not on mute but there's a heading 'silence' and the only options are silent when locked or silent always !

What phone are you using?

iPhone 5

Untick the when phone is locked option

You can't ! It's either one or the other !

It's working !ive fiddled with some settings don't ask me which ones have made it work though !

Bloody technology- I only updated because MN kept freezing on me - it's cured that but sent the phone into a muddle in other areas .

My phone keeps totally freezing on me today and no matter what website, app or page I am on, the back arrow is refusing to work!

It's so frustrating isn't it - only happened with MN for me though.

have you accidentally set it to deliver quietly? It came up for me after the update and I pressed it without thinking and didn't get notifications on texts for ages.
Go to settings > notifications > messages and check everything is ticked?

That's one of the things I checked and everything was ticked . I turned Bluetooth off and on again and turned the phone off and on and it's working now.

This is why I never update my iphone. Last time I did it, it ruined everything. Bastard.

I really don't like iOS 12 !

Go back to Settings/Notifications/Messages. Makes sure "allow" at the top is enabled and a sound is set. If they all look okay, turn them off, turn them on again.
