Just how much of a bitch are the M25 & M3 on a Monday morning at 9am?

(gritted teeth emoji) this'll be me tomorrow morning.... It's prime time accident/traffic jam hell isn't it?

London bound?

Yeah. Good luck with that.

redsummershoes · 14/10/2018 16:54

yep. probably very busy. but it's weird and sometimes there is less traffic than expected.

RandomMess · 14/10/2018 16:55

It will be a lovely opportunity to view the surroundings at 20 mph...

TheIndianCush · 14/10/2018 17:13

Actually outward bound. I didn't think to mention that. Leaving London. Not that I expect it makes much difference.. Hmm Perhaps I can entertain myself plane spotting...

20mph? Who're you kidding? Last time I was down there it was 15... sigh

You will spend a lot of time in second gear

IsTheRainEverComingBack · 14/10/2018 17:17

Where are you going and from where? I spent years driving from M3 J1 round to Guildford everyday, so M3, M25, A3 and honestly it was fine, usually took about 10 mins longer than at other times of day. I’d leave a bit earlier if you can, it’s better round 8ish.

RandomMess · 14/10/2018 17:21

Well I didn't like to mention walking over the footbridge with the speed limit on 20 and the cats stationary...

RandomMess · 14/10/2018 17:33

Cats GrinGrinGrinGrin motor vehicles....

Have to agree it always seems ridiculously busy that section Sad

TwllBach · 14/10/2018 17:35

Oh crap I’m meant to be going across the Dartford tunnel at 9 tomorrow, towards Harlow. Is hat a really stupid idea?? If I left at 9.20 would that male a difference?

Sorry for the thread hijack op

CloudPop · 14/10/2018 21:22

Leave some extra time. It's always grim but not always awful - if you have time on your hands it reduces the stress.

Gettingbackonmyfeet · 14/10/2018 21:25

Ergh annoyingly reasonless congestion before the m3 exit but at least they have removed some of the restrictions on the m3 section after the exit (err I think anyway) the " we're giving you a at motorway" signs sticking me at 50 have me the rage

Good luck...may the traffic God's be with you

Foxyloxy1plus1 · 14/10/2018 22:22

Well, if you’re on the Heathrow bit, you’ll probably be able to do some plane spotting as you sit in traffic. Especially if they’re coming in to land.

TheSageofOnions · 14/10/2018 23:22

The Gatwick - Heathrow bit is always the worst IMO and with the M3 in the middle of those two, it'll be slow. Possibly very slow and, if you're really unlucky dead stop. I'd get an audio book to listen to.
