Pre-interview nerves. Help.

I have an interview tomorrow morning, for a very senior position in a medium sized charity. It would be a big step up for me but I was headhunted via a recruitment company.

I have prepared a 20 minute presentation as requested. I know the subject area well and normally can talk the talk. However interviews kill me.

Nerves almost always get the better of me! I end up forgetting everything I know. Even with prompts I clam up.

I REALLY want this job. Please give me tips for staying cool. Please!

Choose your outfit as one that makes you feel amazing. Take notes in. with you.
Download the headspace app and use the free trial bits.
Listen to your favourite music on your journey.
Think of three words to describe how you want t come across. Focus on those.
And go for it. They will expect nerves because you care

Thank you. I will have a look at the app.

Everyone who I know is shocked that I get nervous, apparently I am super confident and come across really intelligent Confused. How can I get this across in an interview. I always feel like some kind of bonkers fraud, and I don't deserve to be there, and any minute they are going to realise their mistake and tell me to leave!

Best advice I was ever given re presentations was to stop trying to control nerves. Just accept them and carry on regardless.

Also was told your body doesn't know the difference between nerves and excitement so can try channel into positive energy/enthusiasm instead of trying too hard to calm down/relax.

Good luck you will rock it I'm sure!

Interesting Chocs, I will try and channel it into positive excitement Smile

This is me too! Interview tomorrow, but my presentation is 7 mins max and it is stressing me out to keep it that short!

I'm trying to tell my brain that I'm excited not nervous as pp suggested.

I'm sure you'll be awesome! Smile
