First use of the legendary IP.

Accidentally switched a hob on next to it, came into the kitchen to the smell of burning plastic and a melting pot.

Shit fuck bollocks wank.

Oh and the food inside tastes like school dinners.

Grin at 'school dinners'

EvenFlo2 · 14/10/2018 16:19

School dinners with the additional taste of my despair...

😯 THE HORROR

I almost made soup with the water cup still inside the other week, and only narrowly salvaged it. I was thanking my stars.

I feel your pain, they aren't cheap either

EvenFlo2 · 14/10/2018 17:01

And to add insult to injury - I’ve just cut my own hair, something I have been doing competently for 4 years, but this time oh no no, no competence today - I have cutone side a good 2 inches shorter than the other...

Shock I think you should go to bed EvenFlo2 before anything else goes wrong.

Fluffycloudland77 · 14/10/2018 17:06

Pmt?

EvenFlo2 · 14/10/2018 17:13

It PMT stands for pretty mediocre try (at adulting) then yeah!

I think I might have to just sit very still and not move for the rest of the day!

Pot Melted, Terrible!

CleanHonestGoals · 14/10/2018 17:17

If you've not fucked it up too much IP will supply another base for it..if the wires havnt been melted etc

MsMotherOfDragons · 14/10/2018 17:18

I have an Instant Pot that I have only used once because I am actually terrified of it and can't figure out how it works.

EvenFlo2 · 14/10/2018 17:39

msmother I can tell you how to melt it down into something else if that would help...

OP posts:
CleanHonestGoals · 14/10/2018 17:53

Sorry meant to say if the wires are melted then you are screwed...if not the base can be sorted

EvenFlo2 · 14/10/2018 18:30

It’s the black bit below the buttons and the base that’s melted... surely they won’t replace it cause it was me being dozey?

CleanHonestGoals · 14/10/2018 19:23

It's a well know thing to melt the bottom of the pot..contact IP support.. if you havnt melted the wires then they can sort out a base...Not sure if it'll cost you a little or not but they are normally very good.
Have a look on the instant pot UK Facebook community page

Oh my God, Ha ha ha. You just made me feel a lot better about my cooking disaster this evening. I was trying to cook a lamb burger and I flipped the thing including the utensils and drop them all on the floor. I threw the burger back in the pan, and then it fell to pieces. I'm visually impaired, I'm trying to flip and find tiny pieces of meat is still something I'm not very good at. Then they all started burning, I'm in a Christmas onesie and I put the pan on the outside of the window where all of the cars were probably looking at me thinking what is that crazy girl doing? I have never set the fire alarm off in my building though, and I didn't want to start today. So thank you. I don't feel so bad now.

EvenFlo2 · 14/10/2018 20:41

I reckon Channel 4 are emailing us as we speak hellokitty asking us to front their next cooking show!
