I have two lines of text indented like this:

  GCSE results: blah blah blah
  more blah blah blah

I want to shift the bottom line so the m is in line with the first b like this:
GCSE results: blah blah blah
more blah blah

How do I do it? My space bar won't shift the text over & anything to do with the indents settings shifts the whole thing over - despite me highlighting the specific bottom line. Help please

Use the Tab or more secure put it in a table with no grid lines showing?

YouveCatToBeKittenMe · 14/10/2018 14:11

Highlight the bottom line then drag the slider on the ruler to line up with the bottom line

Use a table and get rid of the borders. It will be perfect and if you get rid of the borders at the end you'll be able to see exactly what you're doing while you're doi g it

Press tab after the :
Then move the bottom marker on the ruler to the right position. You won't be one character out then.

The bottom ruler bit is meant for the second line (don't think I was clear before)

I had to hold down the alt key on my mac whilst dragging the slider to allow it to align more accurately. Not sure if its the same key that does that on a PC.
