Who knows sign language on here and do you only know British sign language?

I'm just curious as I have started to learn from Greek sign language. I am on the board for an organization in my area and we were going to have a find language training in British find language as well. I am visually impaired and I don't have enough vision to see videos on YouTube with signing so I just have to learn it hand over hand. When I speak with a deaf person person I can fine, but I have to feel what they are signing. Same thing with my deaf blind friends, we just fine in each other's hands.

In Greece, I will learn facial expressions as well. I have never thought how important this is, and I don't know how we're going to go about doing this since I have no idea what other people's facial expressions look like. But I really do want to learn more sign language though. For those who have learned How long did it take you?

Hi kitty
I learned Japanese Sign Language for a few years - well, it was more like participating in a sign language circle and picking it up.
After a couple of years, I was being asked to speak at sign language conferences to talk about my experience. I signed the presentations but I’m not native level. (I’m pretty much native level Japanese language speaker, but JSL has different grammar etc).

Facial expressions are important for sure, too.

Good luck with your studies!

Is there a Japanese sign alphabet? Sign alphabet? Because in Greek some of the letters are the same as American find language, but other things like ωψξ are different. Does the Japanese alphabet in sign language become completely different?

Yep there are also signs for the whole syllabic alphabet - so for each of the 50 kana. I think some derive from ASL
