Don't know how I'm going to get through the day

Husband at uni, zero friends/family available and I feel like pants. 21mo and 9mo. 21m old isn't a telly watcher and even shoving them in a bath will prove to be hard work as toddler needs constant help to be gentle with his brother. Baby is clingy also.

I feel rubbish. Such an awful cold. I'm sweaty and achy and my head is pounding. I can only take paracetamol as ds2 is bf still.

Ds1 isn't really in to cot napping lately but I really don't fancy a driving nap as I could do with a sleep too. Trying to keep baby up in the hope that they'll nap together.

Husband will be home some time after bed time as traffic on Sundays is awful.

It's going to be a shit day, you literally just need to survive it. Telly on, blankets on the sofa, snacks for 21mo (not the end of the world if they graze all day instead of hot meals, it's just one day). Lay on the floor close to the kids whilst they play.

Just any little thing that makes the day easier. Time will go by, maybe not quickly but it will and you will make it to this evening.

You're right. I'll survive. That's a good way to keep it in my head.

I'm currently ignoring them and on MN while 21m reads a book and baby climbs on me.

Thankfully we have dinner in the fridge already to serve. DH is back at work tomorrow but off on Sunday so only seven days to go.

Going to go to bed at the same time as the baby tonight

It will be shit but you will get through it. Just do the absolute minimum. If you have to lay on the sofa with CBeebies on all day while giving out crap snacks all day so be it. If toddler won’t watch telly lay on floor near them while they play. Doctors is a good one because it enables you to lie down with your eyes closed while they administer to you.
We’ve all done it, it’s not fun but you’ll make it through Flowers

P.s. drink loads of fluids it’ll help with the fever and headache especially if you are BF

Oh shit, you're right. I've only had half.a coffee this morning. I'm going to bung them in highchairs in a sec and lie on the floor while they smear food everywhere

I really sympathise. BrewCake We've all been there. Just do whatever you need to do to get through the day. Don't think of the hours ahead. Just concentrate on getting through the next 10 minutes, and the day will pass! Hope you're feeling better soon.

I'm laying down next to the baby who is asleep and ds1 is shouting for me from his cot. I really really need him to nap. I just want to cry

Remember you can also take ibuprofen while breastfeeding (unless you're allergic or shouldn't take it for some other reason):
