I've just booked my first ever class but I have little to no idea what it is! I go to the gym regularly but thought I'd sign up for a couple of classes for variety.

What do I take? What do I wear? Will I struggle being a total newbie?!

Well I did it! There was another newbie there too and we managed to have a chat with the instructor just before the class. She was friendly and lovely. The other people in the class were all about 50 years older than me! And very unfriendly, unfortunately, so I was a bit lost on how to get a mat, whether I needed two (soft comfy one under longer one). And the standard was a bit high, but still manageable. And I wasn't bored! I'm going to keep on going :)

Well done - glad you enjoyed it.

Those posters who called pilates boring must have very poor instructors.

A good instructor will make sure the class is varied and challenging. I do all sorts of training from weights to cardio but a good pilates class is more challenging than any of those and will make the most changes to your body.

On the contrary, my instructor is fab. I'm just more of a leap around and shake it about kind of gal!😂
