Painful bump below my ear

Could it be a gland up? It's quite painful, like a bruise would be. There is a lump there but its under the skin and doesn't seem like a spot. It's about the size of a penny. It's on my neck below my ear but back a bit. Sorry boring question but I'm panicking a bit

I get a swollen lymph node there when I have a cold or anything like that.

I get swollen nodes there too; every time I'm fighting something off

It really is painful. I've had a nasty head cold for the last couple of weeks,I was looking forward to feeling well again

Yup lymph nodes... they help your body fight infection. Hope you feel better soon x
