Aargh have wasted today so far - please tell me it’s not too late to make good use of the weekend!

Am paralysed by anxiety about various different things going on in our lives (me and the dc, and ex), and have done nothing.

Please tell me I can still get loads done this weekend!! Feel as if it is pointless now, as I have already wasted so much time Confused.

You can still get loads done, absolutely!

And time resting is never wasted.

Crack on now Smile

OP even if you get out for a quick walk it's something & you will probably find the fresh air clears your head a bit.

ShannonRockallMalin · 13/10/2018 14:46

I’ve only just got home from work! My weekend starts now. I’m going to enjoy the warm weather and get some gardening done. Still plenty of time!

curious2 · 13/10/2018 15:08

Thanks Smile. Will try not to give in to the feelings of panic and hopelessness (overstating the case a bit, but am annoyed with myself about this morning).

I’m just about to go and Get Things Done now, so you can too. Get to it, OP!

AlexaShutUp · 13/10/2018 15:10

I haven't done anything either, OP. Feel so shit about wasting the time but struggling to motivate myself. I ache all over, which isn't helping, and I'm just devoid of any energy.

AlexaShutUp · 13/10/2018 15:11

What is it that you need to do?

NoSquirrels · 13/10/2018 15:11

What do you need to do?

Write it here then go do it. Come back to the thread when you’ve done it...

Spreadingcudweed · 13/10/2018 15:22

Anxiety is very draining so don't be too hard on yourself. You probably needed the rest this morning.

If you feel able, set a timer for 15 mins. Work in a focused way on a distinct task then stop and then have a cup of tea and a break.

Although this sounds desperately sick-bucket-worthy Grintry and re- frame your action list in your mind not as chores you have to do but as "being kind to your future self".

Repeat 15 min cycle as you feel fit but plan to do something nice tonight as a reward for your efforts.

Good luck op. Even 5 mins of concentrated effort will make a difference! Flylady principles are a good way to approach this.Flowers

It's poured down here today all day and I'm crippled with SPD just now so have literally done nothing. But it's been quite enjoyable! Sometimes it's good to just have a day of self care. Why don't you go and have a nice bath and put some clean pj's on and make some food and watch a film.

Tomorrow is still the weekend. You can do what needs doing then Smile

Spreadingcudweed · 13/10/2018 15:25

Meant to add, break tasks down in to small manageable tasks so everything doesn't seem so overwhelming. If still too unmanageable, break down in to even smaller steps again. Gently does it. Flowers

Thank you.

What I would like to do:

Tidy the kitchen / living room.

Hoover all of downstairs and the stairs.

Our online food shop.

Make food for this evening as my sister is coming over.

Put away all dry clothes.

There’s more to do but I could leave that for tomorrow.

Okay - I will be back Grin. Thanks again Flowers.

dandybelle your suggestion sounds lovely - will try and do that tomorrow.

Joining you in these. See you back here shortly...

AlexaShutUp · 13/10/2018 18:40

How did you get on, OP?

curious2 · 13/10/2018 19:19

Not well. I think I am exhausted so ended up dozing on the sofa. Am also worried about various things and that takes a lot of my energy. Will try again tomorrow. Thanks for asking.

How about you NoSquirrels?

OP posts:
NoSquirrels · 13/10/2018 23:17

Hoovering done, nagging DC about rooms done, tidying living room delegated to DH (done), kitchen tidying done - and then messed up again with teatime, off to do it again now (interim period spent sleepover supervising and negotiating, 2 out of 4 now asleep!) Am exhausted!

curious2 · 13/10/2018 23:31

Well done @NoSquirrels, am impressed.

NoSquirrels · 14/10/2018 10:46

Hello curious - how’s today?

I am recovering from a very rainy dog walk and sorting washing whilst I wait for sleepover people to be picked up. Then I might have a sit down Grin

curious2 · 15/10/2018 08:42

Hi @NoSquirrels - yesterday wasn’t great either - thanks for asking. I did two loads of washing and went swimming and - that’s more or less it Blush.

Things can only improve Grin. You sound like you were doing well Smile.
