Bladders. How often? TMI?

I have had bladder problems for more years than I can remember. I have tried many things. But mostly just got on with it.

But recently I have re started bladder training. Where u re train your bladder to act normally instead of me going to loo every five mins. I’m struggling to remember how often I went when I was normal.
Can I ask any of you who would mind to tell me how often you go to the loo? How many hours in between. Sorry it’s a personal question but it would really help me.

Watching with interest as I have had an overactive bladder for years. I go to the loo and feel the urge to go again within the hour. I have tried bladder retraining and oxybutinin but didn't really make much difference. If I am going anywhere I panic if there are no loos around and I have even had to cut short trips out to come home and go to the loo. I am up 3 or 4 times a night. Very annoying.

I am doing better. I am taking Oxybutynin and marshmallow route. Together they seem to be working. Or one of them is. But to be honest I’m not stopping either to find out. I have gone from going to the loo four times an hour to every few hours. So the bladder re training is working. Just not really sure as to what time frame between each one is normally.

Crinkle77. How long were u in the Oxybutynin for. I didn’t realise it can take up to 12 weeks to kick in.

Also. People have talked about the desert harvest dried aloe Vera. Said it works well. But as it is £50 a tub and u have to take about eight a day I have not tried it yet

I had a meeting with a nutritionist with my DD’s swimming. Someone actually asked that and she said if you are drinking enough you should be going at least 8 times a day.

I personally drink about three litres of water a day and go about 9 or 10 times at a rough guess. I’ve got kids but all c sections.

I go about 5 times a day.

I need to do something about this. In the daytime I'm sometimes OK, but sometimes need to go nearly every hour, which is a problem, especially when travelling. I can't seem to work out why I can sometimes go several hours and sometimes need to go every hour.

It's worse at night because I go 3 or 4 times and then can't get back to sleep so often end up getting up and staying up from about 4 am.

I went to the doctors but he just said drink less, but even if I drink nothing after early evening, I'm still up and down all night and can't sleep due to thirst.

I drink lots due to having had kidney stones a few years ago - and none since, thanks to upping my fluid intake in response.

My bladder capacity is about two-thirds of a pint, which I understand is pretty normal. I drink about six pints a day and go six-ten times. Usually I sleep through.

Might it be dehydration? I find that if I just drink water, bizarrely I get dehydrated very quickly and end up weeing more.

Tea usually keeps me stable and I go every couple of hours during the day (and once overnight).

If I’m really dehydrated like today, I need supermarket dioralyte sachets to reset everything. I’ve been peeing like a whale today before the rehydration sachets.

I think every 2-3 hours is about normal if you're drinking enough.

Crinkle77 · 13/10/2018 12:43

It was years ago and can't really remember now. I tried to tackle it again a couple of years ago. Went to physio and that didn't really do anything. Then got some other tablets but they have me terrible itching down below which is one of the side effects so stopped taking it. Ashamed to say I have not been back to the doctors since. Other health things have taken priority over it.

I go in the morning, twice while at work, once in the evening and once before bedtime. I'm not sure that I drink enough though. Probably 2 mugs of tea, a 500ml bottle of water and a large glass of squash a day.
