Wwyd Full time job

I have an interview next week for the same job I already do but in a different location. Currently work full time but have been thinking I would like to work 4 days a week. My dc has a medical condition so working 4 days would make juggling appointments and things a lot easier. Also have to sit professional exams in the role so a day off would give me uninterrupted time to study and revise during exam periods. The role can definitely be done in 4 days. Most members of my current team work part time but I don't know about the new team.

Has anyone successfully asked for 4 days when going for a job advertised as full time?
How would you word asking? Would it be best to ask at interview stage or only once offered the job? I want the job regardless of hours so it's not a deal breaker but I am really keen to negotiate 4 days so want to do it the best way I can.

At offer. Don’t mention it at interview.
I’ve done this twice recently. First time it was a deal breaker although they negotiated me from 3 days to 4 (job was full time). Second time I just asked if I could do 4 days a week. It woukdnMt have been a deal breaker but obviously I didNMt say that when I asked.
I know a LOT of people who have negotiated this!
Good luck

I have done this (applied & negotiated later). I feel better about it if I sound them out ahead of time. "Would this be at all considered if I were offered the post?"

I can't go into interview with any confidence without asking first. I would feel like I was wasting their time if I didn't ask informally first, and that lack of confidence would come thru in interview.
