I have endometriosis and my periods have always been really painful from when I was a teenager. I get the usual warning signs that one is on the way - sore swollen breasts for well over a week before it starts, mood swings, horrible abdominal pain, headache, sore throat etc.
But occasionally a period will just rock up with no symptoms beforehand whatsoever. One started yesterday and I haven’t had so much as an achy tit to announce it. This happens a few times a year and is always the month after I’ve had a particularly agonising period and build up the month before. What’s that about? Does it mean a cyst has grown and ruptured the month before? Or does it mean nothing? Does this happen to anyone else?
(To make up for it’s pain free arrival, you’ll be pleased to hear that I have fairly standard period cramps now it’s actually here)
