Name this older kids show circa 2000

It was on after school. Don't know what channel but one of the core ones. Around 15-20 years ago.

There was this older guy who was clearly for evil deeds. He made all the smart kids (around 16 years old if I can recall) work on cracking a code. Essentially they all sat on computers constantly entering passwords. Eventually a lad found the password, but I can't remember if he told the boss he cracked it, or him and his friend (a girl) kept the information from him.

That's all I remember 😬 go!

I once asked a similar q on here about an old children's show we watched at primary school and all I could remember was a boy in a boat wreck who was washed up in France with memory loss. I'd been googling for years. MN solved it. Better than Google any day!

I do actually know what it was called just seeing if anyone can guess with that little clue and if it was a national thing as we always seemed to watch it at school, the tv used to get wheeled out of the cupboard.
