A question for cleaners

Hello, I’m looking for advice - not sure if I’m being fussy!

A cleaner comes to our house once a week via an agency. Usually we have no problems but recently I’ve noticed the vacuuming isn’t always done well. I thought our cleaner was maybe using the cordless vacuum which isn’t as good so I asked that she use the ‘proper’ hoover and just the cordless one for the stairs.

Anyway, I was home this week while she was cleaning and it turns out she uses the ‘proper’ vacuum but only the hose without any attachments. I asked if she was ok as it must be back breaking but she said she prefers it as it is easier to get in the corners. The problem is it’s not really getting hair off the carpets and I feel bits are missed.

She’s lovely and trustworthy so I don’t like complaining. But on the other hand I’m paying quite a lot of money and feel the house isn’t getting a good vacuum. What do other cleaners think? Would you think this is actually an ok way to vacuum and I’m being fussy?

Just say "I'd rather you used the attachments on the actual carpet...there are a lot of hairs getting missed"

I personally like to use only the hose in the corners too but I do put attachments on where needed...rugs and so on. She's not covering the entire carpet with the hose...just getting visible crumbs etc.

Go ahead and tell her she has to use the beater head because otherwise the hairs don't get cleaned up. Don't make a big deal of it.
