Has anyone got this miserable cold/dodgy tummy hybrid?

Please tell me it isn’t just me! I started feeling ill a week ago with diarrhoea and nausea that morphed into a bad cold by the end of the first day. I’ve since gone through the usual cold symptoms but with intermittent nausea, stomach cramps and occasional mild diarrhoea. Have never known a cold like it. Is it doing the rounds or have I just got a normal cold and a mammoth attack of IBS at the same time?

Could be flu? That can cause sickness and diarrhoea. I be had the same thing with aching joints and muscles and I'm exhausted. Only thing is I haven't really had a high temperature. Only going to about 37.5. Just think I was unlucky and picked up 2 separate bugs at the same time

Pretty sure it’s not flu as i haven’t been ill enoughfor that - it’s definitely at the level of a bad cold and nothing more, just with extra added shits and nausea for extra fun. Sorry you’ve been feeling rough too. Stupid autumn.

Yes, my whole family (including DM/DF/Dsisters) is at some stage of it! The cold bit seems to stick round a lot longer than the dodgy tummy bit, and as you say isn’t flu-y, just crap!

Yep, all three of my boys and I’ve felt run down with a sore throat and a dodgy tum for a week too.

Mine ended with a light cough so really did go through all the symptoms but I feel fine now hope you feel better soon.

Yes! I thought I was pregnant for a few days because of this terrible nausea, the only time I’d ever felt sick like that for so many days was with HG, then felt like it was glandular (as if my neck and stomach glands were so swollen it was making me nauseous) and then I had a really snotty cold, (no chest infection or throat) and it lasted about 2-3 weeks. I feel better today but still a bit congested in the morning.

DD started with it last week. The sickness and diarrhea lasted a couple of days, but she still has a heavy cold 8 days on.

Oh is this what it is...I feel horrible and wiped out. Woke up with my tummy going around like a washing machine, hot, sore throat and headache. Feeling bloated, nauseous and achy. Had to cancel my driving lesson tonight and I'm trying to get home from uni but my train has been cancelled. I just want a cup of tea and my bed.

Every year, the diarrhoea and vomiting bug goes around. As does the common cold. You appear to have both, which is nasty.

Take Paracetamol, not just when you feel bad, but as a regular (no more than 8 in 24hrs, so 2 every 6 hrs), until you feel well again.

Wash your hands with hot water and soap (alcohol gel is no use), several times a day. Drink LOTS. Avoid milk, eggs and anything fatty.

Use tissues for your nose, not hankies.

I don’t think it is a stomach bug and cold at the same time as the stomach bit has been on and off and relatively mild (no vomiting, diarrhoea intermittently but not violent or regular).

DC1 had it start of the week. His was nasty cough, then bad tummy (puking mainly) and then the cold. He was off Mon and Tues but seemed ok after that!!

My stomach illness was the worst bit by far though, started on Saturday and still feeling the effects.
Let's just say it's a good job the toilet and the sink in our house are close enough to see some action simultaneously 🤢

I had it last week, it didn't last for many days but I felt rotten.
