Shall we invite her round for cookies and a soft blanket? Hmm

She looks ridiculous. Like an extra in a Carry On film.

Nacknick · 11/10/2018 20:13

Bullied by who, I have to wonder...

juneau · 11/10/2018 20:17

Aw, your heart just bleeds for her doesn't it? She's only got several homes, millions of pounds at her disposal and could walk out any day she wanted on the disgusting, orange, racist, misogynist vulgarian she's chosen to be married to. Poor little victim Melania.

juneau · 12/10/2018 11:48

I can't resist sharing this one with you:

I feel terribly sorry for her. All she wanted was to be a billionaires wife and now she stuck as First Lady. Bad things happen to good people right?

RedneckStumpy · 12/10/2018 11:52

Not defending her but people dislike her husband and she is collateral damage in the torrent of abuse leveled at him.

MoonriseKingdom · 12/10/2018 12:18

I think she’s had much less direct and personal abuse than Michelle Obama and Hillary Clinton who were both hated by the right.

AviatorShades · 12/10/2018 12:28

She says that she needs hard evidence before she will believe that a sexual assault took place?ShockBlush

Who the fuck writes this shit that she spouts? Anyone else's jaw dropped in disbelief - oh, and anyone else suppressed a totally non-PC snigger?

CaligulaBlushed · 12/10/2018 12:42

I don't believe a word that comes out of her mouth is her own.

I actually feel sorry for her. The cage she lives in may well be gilded, but she still lives in a cage. She does not seem like a strong, free or even a happy woman, and Trump is not a man whose wife could publicly defy him. God knows who she is or what she really feels, she's a scripted puppet and she will never get out.

ImperfectTents · 12/10/2018 12:42

@juneau LOVE Hadley. That article is perfect

tectonicplates · 12/10/2018 12:53

could walk out any day she wanted on the disgusting, orange, racist, misogynist vulgarian she's chosen to be married to. Poor little victim Melania.

Do you say that to all women trapped in abusive relationships? "Why don't you just leave?"

He's an abuser, a rapist and a sociopath. Emotional abuse is a thing. Leaving really isn't that easy. Even if you have lots of money.

BiscuitsAndGravy · 12/10/2018 12:54

She is just as delusional as her megalomaniac husband.

Spudlet · 12/10/2018 12:56

As a commenter on another site said about this - I'd like to believe her, I would, but I'm going to need to see some hard evidence.

Overyou · 12/10/2018 12:56

I do feel sorry for her. She doesn’t even like her husband.

juneau · 12/10/2018 12:56

We don't know that he's abusive to her or that she is a victim of him. Plenty of women are married to objectionable men and they don't see their marriages as abusive - just look at Georgina Chapman - married to Harvey Weinstein for years before it came out that he was a sexual predator, yet she claims she never saw that side of him. Just saying ...

CaligulaBlushed · 12/10/2018 12:57

I agree tectonic. There is no way Melania is the one woman alive who Trump treats with dignity and respect. I don't see how their relationship could be anything other than abusive, given that he is a misogynist whose serial mistreatment of women goes unpunished. I find the idea of being married to him quite terrifying, and the idea of trying to leave him and making him "look bad" even more so.

CaligulaBlushed · 12/10/2018 13:00

Yes, you're right actually juneau. Still, going on my gut feeling I won't hang her for her words because I do believe they're not her own. I can't prove it, everyone is quite welcome to disagree with me, but that's just my feeling on things.

tectonicplates · 12/10/2018 13:05

At the end of the day, you kind of have to feel sorry for anyone married to Donald Trump. 🤢🤮

CaligulaBlushed · 12/10/2018 13:09

At the end of the day, you kind of have to feel sorry for anyone married to Donald Trump

Ain't that the truth.

juneau · 12/10/2018 14:51

The impression that I get about Melania is that her relationship with Donald Trump suited her very well until she became First Lady. Up until then they lived largely separate lives. They were rarely seen together. They had separate apartments within Trump Tower - she lived with Barron - he lived alone. She shopped, lunched with her friends, and did whatever the hell wives of excessively rich men do. And when he required it she turned up on his arm, looking like the probably million dollars she spends on herself each year. He has had other women throughout their marriage and she doesn't care - just as long as she gets to do as she pleases without having to spend much time with him. She is an intelligent woman who speaks several languages, she's well travelled and worldly - I think theirs is a marriage of convenience and the only thing that doesn't suit her is the scrutiny she is now under and the humiliation of his dirty laundry being aired in public to embarrass her.

AviatorShades · 12/10/2018 15:27

Spot on, I reckon, juneau. Without resorting to Google I got the impression they've been married for about 17yrs or so? I'd think it's only now the Orange One is so disrespectful to her in public that doesn't sit well with her.
Give the end of his Term in Office, will she still be with him five years after?Me, I doubt it, but...who knows (or cares, even)? Actually, come to think of it, I do. Such public humiliation....just NO
