Son biting

DS is 4. Just started reception. In the past at nursery he has had a few tete a tetes with particular peers. This was dealt with at nursery by time out and other discipline.

He has been at school since Sept. We have now been spoken to on 2 ocassions an incident where he pushed another child after a day of not being kind and sharing and was put into time out. And today, he has bitten another child. Even more embarrassingly so, it's a child of a lady who I am friendly with.

I am mortified.

When the first incident occurred at school, we didnt prolong the punishment but spoke to him why it wasn't nice to do those things and enforced kind hands etc.

I intend to do the same this time around and will speak to him when I get home.

Have messaged friend, saying it was my son (she had a call earlier today to say a child had bitten her son and we joked that I hoped it wasn't my son Blush ) She said not to worry, her son is/was fine and there is barely a mark.

I am so embarrassed and mortified.

Any ideas on how to handle this? I don't him to be "that" kid.

Children are very forgiving at this age - however other parents are not!

My daughter was bitten several times by the same child, he bit others aswell.

I would tell mine to stay away.

There isn't much you can do at this stage other than keep reinforcing the message and letting the other parent know that you are sorry and dealing with it, you aren't obliged to say how you are dealing with it! Bit an apology goes along way

Yes. I apologized immediately and also let her know later on how we had dealt with it at home.

I am so embarrassed
