Can anyone help me out here - I'm trying to understand the role of a nurse practitioner and how it is different from a nurse. Is there an official definition? Also is there any difference between NP and Advanced NP? I can only find stuff relating to Advanced level nursing practice and advanced nurse practitioners on the RCN website, rather than 'nurse practitioner'.
