Need to have a rant

Been trying to meet with senco at my dcs school. Dc has sen still in nappies and at main stream.
Dc has been coming home expressing feelings of sadness. Saying hes useless that everyone else in the class is great and wants to know why hes not. He's waking in the night struggling to get back to sleep and sobbing his heart out. I have other parents telling me their dcs keep telling them my dc cries alot and that both recpetion classes children are all talking about him being in nappies. I sent an email after 2 weeks of trying to get a meeting. Got a phone call off recpetionist today to tell us hes a good behaved child in class hes eating his dinner we have not to worry as parents senco is to busy for a meeting if she most she will phone us monday. Seriously because hes eating and not naughty in school they aren't interested so a 4 year old suddenly waking sobbing and not able to sleep and having feelings of uselessness is nothing.

I think you need to go in and address your concerns to the teacher face to face
He has only been at school a little while and it maybe overwhelming for him
It must be very upsetting for you both

I have tried to talk to his teacher she brushes me off. Thats the biggest problem i have there is zero communication.

Send Senco email clearly stating your worries and what help you want to resolve it. cc in Head and put a read receipt on it. If they don’t respond by say half term then make a complaint to ofsted. Senco isn’t doing their job. Be firm ❤️

I understand they are probably still getting to know the children however you have a very distressed child
Insist on a meeting and take someone with you for support
Keep reassuring your son he is doing fine

Bunnyhop thats what i did after 2 weeks of no meeting i sent email outlining my worries. Which is when the senco got the receptionist to phone us. I will see if she phones monday if she doesn't i will be demanding ( more a request not saying i will be nasty) a meeting with the head.

Thank you both. My heart breaks for him.
